  • Senior ERP Functional Consultant (Lead) – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior ERP Functional Consultant (Lead) to drive end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations across finance, supply chain, and operations.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, leading discovery, solution design, and delivery of scalable ERP solutions. You will play a critical role in enabling business transformation, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making, particularly within wholesale distribution, retail, and manufacturing sectors.

You will also lead the adoption of AI and Copilot capabilities within Business Central, helping clients unlock automation, predictive insights, and process optimisation.

  • Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Business Consulting

  • Lead discovery/analysis workshops to understand client business processes, requirements, and transformation goals
  • Conduct gap-fit analysis and design scalable Business Central solutions aligned with industry best practices
  • Develop Solution Design Documents (SDD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), and process maps
  • Advise clients on process optimisation and standardisation using out-of-the-box capabilities

2. ERP Implementation Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end ERP implementations (design, configuration, testing, deployment, support)
  • Configure core modules including:
  • Financial Management
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management
  • Procurement & Sales
  • Manufacturing & Assembly
  • Drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system integration testing, and business validation
  • Support go-live and hypercare activities ensuring a smooth transition to BAU

3. AI & Copilot Enablement (Differentiator)

  • Identify and implement AI and Copilot use cases across finance, supply chain, and operations
  • Drive adoption of Business Central Copilot capabilities such as:
  • Forecasting and insights
  • Reconciliation support
  • Process automation
  • Advise clients on data readiness and governance to maximise AI outcomes
  • Embed AI-driven efficiencies within Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to Report processes

4. Data, Integration & Governance

  • Define and manage data migration strategy, cleansing, and validation
  • Collaborate with technical teams on integrations (ISVs, third-party systems, APIs)
  • Ensure adherence to implementation governance, best practices, and quality standards

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Pre-Sales

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders
  • Conduct solution demonstrations, workshops, and executive presentations
  • Support pre-sales activities including:
  • Solution shaping
  • Effort estimation
  • Proposal development

6. Leadership & Practice Development

  • Mentor and guide junior consultants and delivery teams
  • Contribute to methodologies, accelerators, and reusable artefacts
  • Stay current with Business Central releases, Microsoft roadmap, and ISV ecosystem
  • Support the growth of Compusoft’s D365 practice in ANZ
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • 6–10 years of ERP functional consulting experience
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / D365 Business Central
  • Proven delivery of multiple end-to-end ERP implementations

  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
